This emerald jewel is found at the trailhead to Medicine Creek. Although many years ago I first began traveling across
what I believed to be all the bridges on the Umpqua River, I'd never crossed the bridge that gave me this marvelous scenic view until
I went looking for the trailhead to Medicine Creek. I never tried because the sign on the Rogue Umpqua Scenic Byway says the Transfer
site is located there. Yes, that's true, but keep going, and this is what you'll find. The locals are very proud of their river, and the
freedom they have to enjoy the Umpqua any time they choose. :-)
