Wood River Wetlands near Crater Lake.

Wood River Wetlands in Autumn, but one of the four seasons in which the wetlands are open to non-motorized travel.
The wetland has been recently restored. The land was used for cattle grazing for four decades. In 1996 the BLM and partners have restored over 3,000 acres of wetland and two miles of Wood River channel. The wetland is located adjacent to Agency Lake on the northeastern end of Klamath Lake. The area offers miles of walking trails, one mile of which is paved, and a canoe launch for a variety of recreational opportunities not the least being its close proximity to Crater Lake, the many national wildlife refuges in the area, the myriad of vacation opportunities in the Cascades and elsewhere. A vacation plan in Klamath Basin in southern Oregon offers much; the only problem being determining how to limit all the opportunities in the time you've allocated for your vacation.
