This photograph was taken on the western rim, on one of the smaller pullouts, with a trail that begins with a sharp
ascent off to the left. I climbed the trail, walked along the lake and took several photographs with this same quality of light
and peace. It was August and the seasons were changing. Summer is a brief dance when lake and mountain
make their own weather. This but part of the mystery of Crater Lake.
