Begin hiking anywhere you like as long as you stay on national forest land and it's not difficult to stay on National Forest
Lands. Gathering Light ... a retreat is surrounded by Winema National Forest. Hiking along the river, about a half mile
downstream, you'll come to Old Growth Ponderosa pine growing along the river banks.

Easily accessible and quite marvelous birding sites: The Upper and Lower Klamath Wildlife Refuges, Tulelake
Wildlife Refuge, Wood River Wetlands on Agency Lake, Howards Bay and Shoalwater Bay - Eagle Ridge on Klamath Lake.
