Ashland was constructed in a canyon. The surrounding hills, once covered in trees and dirt roads that climbed higher ever higher, many are now covered in housing developments, testimony to the popularity of the area. And the hills are beautiful, giving some spectacular views and great hiking tours as might be imagined from these photographs.
